Squat Hold Tutorial
DESCRIPTION/INSTRUCTIONS:
Stand with your feet shoulder width apart and your toes pointed slightly outward.
Squat down until your hip drops below the top of your knee, and hold for the prescribed amount of time.
HELPFUL CUES:
Hold your arms out in front of your body. This will help you maintain balance.
Your knees and toes should be pointed in the same direction.
COMMON MISTAKES:
Not squatting low enough. Make sure your hips drop below your knees. This will make sure the muscles are being fully trained.
Allowing your heels to come off the ground. This can place excess strain on the knees, so make sure you keep your feet flat on the ground.
Rounding your low back. Keep your back tight and straight as you squat down and while you’re holding the squat.
COMMON VARIATIONS:
