Cossack Squat/Lunge

Description/Instructions:

  1. Hold weight at chest or with arms straight out in front of you

  2. Stand in wide stance and lunge towards one side as low as possible without lifting the heel of the lunging leg and keeping the other leg completely straight

  3. Stand back up into starting position and go into the same position on the opposite side.

Helpful Cues:

  1. Keep “proud chest” - Chest up

  2. Can widen stance to help with range of motion

Common Mistakes:

  1. Heel coming up

  2. Too much forward lean

  3. Non-lunging leg bends

  4. Not getting deep enough
