Other fun notes:
Being only 10 points from first place, 1 more correct in the first round would have tied for the lead. Jorge forgot to fill out one game of the first round which nearly everyone got right.
Only Ryan Harris had the champion (Texas) correct. Despite the 320 points he received for this, his bracket was so bad that he still finished outside the top 3 with 1330 points. Truly Remarkable.
Aaron Morgan and Keith Myers are the only ones to have all 8 of the Elite 8 right
Coach Dan, David Kerr, and Grace Myers all have the top 16 correct
Coach Dan’s Dad had 30/32 games correct in the first round. Unfortunately, the second round didn’t go as well.
Coach Dan will be watching ALL Sweet 16 (and likely Elite 8) games at the gym. Everyone will be welcome to join. Sweet 16 starts at noon on Thursday and will go ALL NIGHT!

2020 Women’s NCAA Volleyball Tournament
And The Winner is….
Daryl Criss!
Daryl was near the top the whole tournament and sealed the deal by being one of only two people who chose Kentucky as their winner! There was some family competitiveness during the finals match of Texas vs Kentucky because our second place winner (or first loser) was Daryl’s loving husband, David Kerr. David was the only one to have both Texas and Kentucky in the finals. Our final winner in third place was Corey Kroboth. Who quite frankly had a terrible bracket. However, he also had Kentucky winning and that propelled him up the standings. See below for the full standings. If your name is not on there please let us know. Update from April 21st:
The tournament has been full of exciting matches so far. The University of Pittsburgh pulled off the biggest upset on the year by beating Minnesota to get to the Elite 8. They followed that up with a very close loss to Washington who will be playing Kentucky in the Final Four tonight. Kentucky so far hasn’t lost a set in three matches and has looked pretty dominant during it all. After beating a couple really good teams they are likely the new favorites. Texas will also be joining in the final four. They got in by beating 2 top Big10 teams in Penn State and Nebraska. Wisconsin, the pre-tournament favorite and obviously my favorite team, narrowly got by a really tough Florida team in order to make it into the Final Four. Matches will kick off on ESPN at 7:00 pm with Kentucky vs Washington. Then 45 minutes after the conclusion Wisconsin will play Texas. The finals will then be played on Saturday evening.
The standings at the gym are very close. Many people have Wisconsin winning it all. However, if Kentucky wins it is pretty clear that Daryl Criss will take home first place as she is one of the only ones who has them and is also currently tied for 1st already. Strangely, her loving husband is the only one who chose Texas to win it all, and therefore he will take home first place if Texas wins it all. Not many chose Washington to be in the final four and no one has them in the finals. If Kentucky meets Wisconsin in the finals and you have them both, then you can expect to move right up the leader board as there are only a few of you.
