Become Better Wedding

THANK YOU to everyone that attended and helped us this last weekend. I won’t list everyone who helped make the night possible as I just don’t have the time, but you all know who you are.

As most of you know, the Become Better Wedding was a huge success. Nicole and I successfully said, “I do” early in the afternoon with the help of officiant Ed Talarico in front of our immediate families. We were very happy to see that so many of you were then able to attend our reception in the evening. As I’ve said before, our gym community is my/our family and I wanted to make sure everyone was able to attend. We went into this process wanting to put our own little twist on the norm. Nicole and I both knew when I purchased this building that we would then use it for this event. Personally, I just wanted to get married and then throw a fun party at the gym with no formalities or decorations. Nicole still wanted the place to look nice like a typical wedding venue (and boy did she accomplish that). The compromise was a party at the gym that apparently can look and feel like a normal wedding. We both agreed that our priorities after this were food, drinks, and time. We are very happy that so many of you have made comments on how good the food was because those were our two favorite places to eat. We know a lot of you aren’t beer drinkers and that is of course fine! We hope many of you tried, and maybe found a new beer that you like and will perhaps visit that brewery in the future. Then time. The worst part of a wedding is when it’s over. We still had 40+ people still having a good time with us after midnight and still a handful after 2:00 am. That was exactly what we wanted.

I want to personally apologize for not being able to talk more with each and every one of you. I don’t think I even talked to my parents for more than a couple minutes once the reception started. Everyone told me that would happen, but I always thought people were exaggerating when talking about the lack of time you will have with everyone. So if I hardly talked to you, or missed you completely, I promise it wasn’t on purpose!

Thank you for all of the gifts! And Thank You to everyone who read and listened to the part where I said GIFTS WERE NOT NECESSARY. We were able to put on this event for a relatively cheap amount and our goal wasn’t to have our guests pay to attend.

However, if you did not tip your bartenders you should do that now. They were troopers all night and kept the drink line down even though so many of you went back over and over again.
